It's been years since I've seen or talked to him, my warmest memory being when he showed me one of his photo albums that had pics of his days hopping freight trains and running from the railroad authorities. Jaime was my guitar teacher and I have only recently begun to understand what an honor that was to learn from him. I wonder if he still remembers his days in the Blues Palace music store in Lancaster, Ohio giving lessons to bratty high school kids like myself. Having graduated from college now, I look back on those lessons and conversations with great affection. Barry, if you could put me in touch with Jaime, or have him e-mail me if that is possible, I would greatly appreciate it. I'd like to tell him with my own words the influence he gave me. Thank you, Todd Figgins ------------------------------------------- From: "Tom Schwoegler" To: Subject: The Find of a Lifetime Date: Mon, 28 Oct 1996 21:08:01 -0600 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal Barry, I cannot tell how happy I am to find this site. I heard the Legend of the USS Titanic over 25 years ago and have bee trying to find out who the author was. The song stared my love affair with the 12-string. DO you know where I can find a copy of this recording. I would be willing to pay big $$ for one. Thanks a million, Tom Schwoegler (Chicago, IL, USA) ------------------------------------------ Date: Thu, 14 Nov 1996 20:06:28 -0800 From: Jon Marchant To: barrylee@post3.tele.dk Subject: Jaime Brockett X-Url: jaimecon.htm Help, I tried to sign the guestbook and got a "URL not found" message. I'd like to be on the mailing list. I saw on the page that there is (or was) a tape available, and a CD under development. Does either (or both) contain the Ballad of the USS Titanic? Do you know how to order a copy of either (or both)? I heard, years ago, a version of BOTUSST on a Dr. John album. Do you have any idea if this is true, and if it is, do you have any idea which album it is? In short, is there any way to get a copy of BOTUSST these days? I remember listening to The Legend of the USS Titanic in 1969 on WPKN radio in Bridgeport, CT. I never bought the album and have been looking for it for years to no avail. I would be grateful if you could somehow get me a tape of this song, or steer me towards somewhere that I could get the record. Thanks... It's a new experience each time. After hearing it I searched Hotbot on my new toy,for you and found your home page...great! I had no idea you were still around or that anyone else cares about your music, although I don't recall hearing anything of yours except "Legend", sorry that I didn't buy your records to see what your other music is like. I'll check your concert/tour scedule back on your home page and will try to see you live if you're in the area. Thanks for a very special song, one that will always be in my top ten list of favorites. X-URL: jaimedis.htm Hey Barry, I'm hoping you can help me out. I heard a Jamie Brockett song back in the mid 80's and I can't find it or any one who has heard of him. The song that I heard was the song about the Titanic and I would like to get a hold of along with some more of his music. If you know of any place or company that might have it please let me know. Thank You Very much, Bruce Hastings --------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 25 Nov 96 14:42:22 -0800 From: ntenniso@cswnet.com To: barrylee@post3.tele.dk Subject: To Jaime... You're a hard man to find on the net. My dad used to listen to your song about the Titantic. I guess he hasn't heard it in fifteen years or more. Anyway, I asked him what he would like for Christmas and he said "More than anything, I'd like somebody to find Jaime Brockett's 'Titantic.'" I've been searching for months for a copy. Nobody sells them and most do not know what I'm talking about. I really would like to know how to get a copy. You of all people would know. Please write me back. A couple of other musicians have some of their new tunes available for sampling on the net. Are you considering this option at all?
